Equipment Description

The belt filter press dewatering system is a robust solid/liquid separation solution, engineered for demanding applications across pulp and paper mills, chemical processing, dyeing plants, mining operations, and wastewater treatment facilities. Its core function is transforming liquid sludge or slurry into a drier solid cake and clarified filtrate. This is achieved by continuously feeding material between two specially designed filter cloths. These cloths, supported by moving belts, traverse a carefully arranged series of rollers. Mechanical pressure progressively squeezes out water as the sludge advances, resulting in effective dewatering.

Working Principle

 

The sludge first passes through a hydraulic flocculator designed and manufactured by Lanhai Environmental, which enables efficient, energy-free mixing of sludge and chemicals to maximize flocculation.

Next, the conditioned sludge enters the gravity drainage zone, where it undergoes initial dewatering-sludge with a solids content above 1% can be directly processed. The partially dewatered sludge then moves into the press zone, where mechanical pressure further removes moisture. After this two-stage dewatering process, the sludge cake achieves a dryness level of 18-22%, depending on sludge characteristics.

Additionally, the system incorporates an air-controlled belt tracking mechanism, ensuring optimal belt alignment while extending filter belt lifespan. This feature enhances operational stability and reduces maintenance requirements.

 

Application

 

Belt filter press dewatering is primarily applied to dewatering of mixed sludge, nitrifying sludge and residual activated sludge in papermaking, chemical fiber, printing and dyeing, urban sewage treatment plant.
